Chef Danny Elmaleh’s contemporary Mediterranean cuisine has been a powerful favorite at SLS since the resort rose from the ashes of the Sahara three years ago. Maybe it’s because each fresh, light dish is supercharged with intense flavors, creating one of the most social and shareable dining experiences on the Strip.
Thanks to the new “social hour” at Cleo—available daily from 5 to 7 p.m.— that experience is easier than ever. Beer and wine, of course, are available at discounted prices (that’s what makes a happy hour happy), but numerous dishes are also available for $10 or less, including dips like the savory eggplant-infused babaganoush, spicy and citrusy carrot harissa, and creamy hummus with tahini—all served with fresh-from-the-oven laffa bread, warm, chewy and satisfying. Crisp flatbreads like the one with artichoke, potato, wilted arugula and mozzarella also make their way to the social-hour menu, along with the seasonally ideal tomato and burrata combo and a chopped salad of cucumbers, freekeh and more juicy tomatoes.
Taking advantage of these specials is just like the first time you ate at Cleo: too good to be true. But it’s right there waiting. Cleo at SLS, 702-761-7612; Sunday-Thursday 6-10:30 p.m., Friday & Saturday 6-11 p.m.
