The R-J reported that attorneys have managed to uncover $3 million in malpractice insurance at the Endoscopy Center of Southern Nevada. That works out to be $75 for each of the 40,000 patients notified by the center that they were exposed to poor needlework.
Here’s a handy list of what each of these victims can buy with their whopping $75:
• Seasons 1, 2 and 3 of Grey’s Anatomy on DVD ($70); of course there’s also House, a better show (and a better doctor), but you’ll have to have someone spot you 10 bucks ($85).
• Halfsies on a massage at the Spa at Green Valley Ranch, which is $130 plus a tip. (Tell your friend they can go next time!)
• A commemorative UNLV Rebels Red Hoodie ($54.95) and a UNLV Mountain West Conference Champions T-shirt ($19.95) for a total of $74.90
• Three Velvet Elvis paintings on eBay ($24.99 each)
• VIP seating at V—The Ultimate Variety Show ($75.90). You’ll have to plunk down the additional 90 cents and leave the spouse at home, but isn’t it worth it?
• The Mario Andretti Pace Car Ride at Las Vegas Speedway ($75).
• Indoor skydiving ($75).
• Dinner for two at the Buffet at Bellagio ($27.95 apiece). Heck, you can even upgrade to the special gourmet dinner ($35.95 apiece) and still have a few bucks left over!
• The Golf or Spa Getaway at the Oasis in Mesquite ($70 based on availability; sorry, you have to choose one or the other).
• A limo ride from Las Vegas Limo Services ($62.95), with cash left over for McDonald’s.
• Two Liberace tote bags from the bathtub image collection ($29.95 each).
• Three $19 yard-long margaritas in souvenir cups from La Salsa at Caesars, plus chips!
• Thirty-seven and a half shares of Bear Stearns stock ($2 a share last time we looked).
• Anything you want at the dollar store—go nuts. (Did we mention everything’s a dollar?) – LVW staff
