INGREDIENTS:
1 1⁄2 oz. Alchemy chocolate vodka
1⁄2 oz. Alchemy wild cherry vodka
1⁄2 oz. Malibu coconut rum
1⁄2 oz. Godiva chocolate liqueur
1⁄2 oz. Frangelico
Combine in a tin over ice, shake and strain into a chilled martini
Garnish with fine chocolate shavings and a speared maraschino cherry dipped or squirted with chocolate sauce.
Attention chocolate lovers! Bartender Chris Sines spent some time in Germany, where he often enjoyed the very popular dessert Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte—literally, Black Forest cherry cake. While the traditional German recipe for the famed gateau utilizes Kirschwasser, a cherry liquor, the Austrian varieties tend toward the use of rum. In his winning submission to the Alchemy Cocktail Competition, Sines was inspired by the Austrian recipe and created a drink worthy of mention on any dessert menu. At home, try throwing it in a blender with ice to whip up your own frosty shake. .
