"Service to others is the rent you pay here on earth."
The Hard Rock did it again. It outsmarted every other hotel in Las Vegas by coming up with an innovative way to give its guest a little something extra that truly sets it apart.
No, we're not talking Rehab. That is so May. We are talking room service. Not the late-night burger and fries bit, but Love Jones room service. That's right, guests can order anything they want from the lingerie and sex accessory store downstairs at any time they want. There's an in-room menu and the whole bit. It's perfectly private, as it should be.
Sure, this kind of thing has been available to high rollers who get whatever they want whenever they want it. But this is the first time the average Joe or Jane guest can order up some silk stockings and handcuffs at 3 a.m.
Some old-school Las Vegas thinkers may scoff at the idea of Love Jones room service. It's just another thing that will help keep guests in the room and out of the casino, like well-stocked mini bars. These are the same people who shake their heads in wonder about the Hard Rock in general. When it first opened, they said it would never fly. Its 20- to 30-something demographic doesn't gamble, they said. Turns out they do. And so do the 40- to 60-year-olds who chase them around.
Suzi Joi, the woman behind the incredible selection of underthings inside this pink treasure of a boutique, is a heroine. Not only does Love Jones carry some of the planet's best lingerie from longtime favorites Cosa Bella, Eberjay and Dolce & Gabbana, it also carries some of the more playful, pretty things from Honey Dew and Hanky Panky. And it doesn't end there. Love Jones also carries silk stockings and fishnets along with top-quality paddles, whips, feathers and handcuffs—for those who are into that sort of thing. It also sells a few tasteful coffee-table sex books and how-to guides.
