Our favorite barks and banter from the 11th annual music and animal festival, held Saturday at Star Nursery Field.
Tell it like it is: “I always tell my kids, ‘I’ll get rid of you before I get rid of my dogs.’ They believe me.”
One Chihuahua’s opinion of Orianthi: *yawn* “Boooring. When is Kris Allen going on?”
Best/Worst Parenting Award: A woman, dragging her son, kicking and screaming, across Star Nursery Field, exclaims, “You don’t listen half as well as these damn dogs.”
Back to the Chihuahua: “Oh, Kris. He’s so dreamy. I think I’m going to cry."
Worst part (for dogs) about Pet-A-Palooza: Unless you find someone willing to hold you up, seeing the stage is impossible. Down in front!
Interview with a 9-year-old yellow lab, Jackson, and his two human friends:
Weekly: So, who are you here to see?
Jackson: Five for Fighting. They’re my favorite band besides Creed.
Weekly: Is this your first time seeing them?
Jackson: Yes.
Tyler Wogalter: Oh, man. I hope he doesn’t go crazy.
Corey Wogalter: He might. He’ll start crowd surfing.
Weekly: What do you think of the event so far?
Jackson: It’s great. The free biscuits help.
Weekly: Awesome. Anything else you want to add?
Jackson: I’d like to say, “What up to all my dawgs in Cleveland.” Spell that d-a-w-g-s.
Best part (for dogs) about Pet-A-Palooza: No dress code. You can channel your inner Lady Gaga, wear a fur coat and no pants and nobody will judge you.
Best part (for humans) about Pet-A-Palooza: Apparently, you can put your kids up for adoption.
Idle on-stage chatter from Kris Allen: “Look at that dog right there. He looks so sad... He must be an Adam (Lambert) fan.”
